Lyrical & Contemporary

Our lyrical and contemporary dance classes offer students the chance to express emotion, storytelling, and artistry through movement.

Lyrical dance blends elements of ballet and jazz, performed to expressive music with lyrics that inspire the choreography. Dancers learn to connect deeply with the music, using fluid movements, emotion-driven dynamics, and graceful technique.

Contemporary dance combines classical techniques with modern movement styles, encouraging creativity, freedom, and personal interpretation. It often involves floor work, improvisation, and unique choreography that challenges traditional boundaries.

These classes are perfect for dancers looking to grow artistically, build strong technique, and explore the emotional side of performance.

I signed my daughter up for Starmaker because she was struggling with her self confidence. The first few lessons it was a struggle to get her to join in. However the teachers are so wonderful and the activities so much fun, after a few weeks she was loving it. She has enjoyed the drama and singing classes and performed confidently in the end of year show.

Since joining Starmaker my son Jack has gained so much confidence. Not just in his performing skills but all round. He constantly sings the songs he’s been learning in class and has so much enthusiasm. He recently auditioned for a part in Matilda and decided he needed more dancing skills, so he’s now enrolled in ‘Street dance’ which he absolutely LOVES!! I can’t rave enough and look forward to next term. Thank you.
