Terms & Conditions of Business

 

  1. Fees are payable before the start of term. Fees not paid by half term will incur a 10% administration fee.

  2. Receipts are provided upon request.

  3. Fees are subject to change.

  4. There will be a 10% sibling discount on all fees paid in full at the beginning of the term.

  5. All new students are required to pay a £10.00 registration fee.

  6. Children are automatically registered for each term. Notice must be given at the end of the term just completed if your child does not wish to continue. If written notice is not received, half a term's fees for the following term will be due.

  7. Should any student wish to discontinue a class, refunds for any unused classes will not be given.

  8. Students must wear the correct uniform for all classes. Hair must be tied back and no jewellery is to be worn. Children must wear suitable footwear for each class. E.g. ballet shoes for ballet, tap shoes for tap, grip socks or bare feet for acro, trainers for street dance and stage + screen. (Please see uniform page for details).

  9. Food and drink is only permitted in designated areas. Water may be brought into class.

  10. Chewing gum is not permitted on the premises.

  11. Mobile phones must be switched off during lessons and Starmaker Performing Arts is NOT responsible for any loss or damage.

  12. Starmaker Performing Arts reserve the right to exclude any child for any reason at its discretion.

  13. Starmaker Performing Arts and all staff members are not liable in respect of personal injury, sickness, loss or damage to students and their property.

  14. Please ensure your child goes to the toilet before class and washes their hands.

  15. Parents / guardians can only watch classes when invited.

  16. I.S.T.D. Tap and Ballet exams are encouraged but are optional and students will only be entered when the teacher decides they have reached the required standard.

  17. Starmaker Performing Arts does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to property left on the premises.

  18. Students should be collected from the hall and not outside in the street.

  19. Students are not permitted to leave the premises at any time during the sessions without prior written consent from a parent or guardian. If you wish for your child to travel home alone written consent is again required.

  20. Please notify us by email if someone else is picking up your child.

  21. Please ensure any changes to students' contact details are provided in writing to the Director. All information is kept in the strictest confidence and will not be passed on to outside parties except the I.S.T.D. when students are being entered for exams.

  22. The school does not discriminate on background, race or religion.

  23. All staff are DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) checked.

  24. It may be necessary for teachers to use physical contact when helping to improve student's posture or assist in movements.

  25. Class times can be subject to changes and classes may be cancelled if not enough pupils are attending. Teachers may be substituted if they are unwell.

  26. Should it prove necessary to close the school or cancel classes on account of a crisis, severe weather conditions or any other circumstances over which the school has no control, fees will not be refunded or compensation given.

  28. If we need to close due to government guidelines (Covid19), classes will continue online.

  29. Starmaker Performing Arts reserve the rights to change the venue / studio without prior notice, to ensure the classes go ahead.

  30. We do not offer credit or refunds for any missed classes.

  31. Staff may be substituted if they are ill or have a professional commitment.

  32. Starmaker reserve the right to amend term dates if staff are ill or have other commitments.

STARMAKER HOLIDAY CAMP

Terms & Conditions

 Confirmation will be emailed once payment has been received. 

  1. Places cannot be held until full payment has been received. All cancellations must be notified in writing.

  2. If cancellations are received 28 days prior to the start of booking a credit less 20% will be held by Starmaker Performing Arts Ltd for future camps. If received up to 14 days prior to the start of a booking a credit less 30% will be held by Starmaker Performing Arts Ltd.

  3. No credit will be given after 14 days. Missed days cannot be credited or refunded.

  4. Starmaker Performing Arts Ltd reserve the right to amend the schedule where necessary.

  5. Starmaker Performing Arts Ltd reserve the right to exclude any child for any reason at its discretion.

  6. No refunds will be made for days missed and no compensation will be made for any other costs or losses incurred as a result.

  7. Starmaker Performing Arts Ltd and all staff members are not liable in respect of personal injury, sickness, loss or damage to student members and their property.

  8. We accept payment in lieu of signature as acknowledgement that you have read, understood and accept these Terms & Conditions.

  9. Staff may be substituted if unwell or have other professional commitments.

  10. Please notify us by email if your child is being picked up by someone else or if they are old enough to leave the building by themselves to make their own way home.

  11. Staff may be substituted if they are ill or have a professional commitment.

No failure of either party to exercise or enforce any of its rights under this AGREEMENT will act as a waiver of such rights.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY INFRINGEMENT CLAIMS

We will promptly process and investigate notices of alleged infringement and will take appropriate actions under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and other applicable intellectual property laws. Notices of claimed infringement should be directed to www.starmakerperformingarts.co.uk.

CHILD PROTECTION POLICY & PROCEDURES

 

At Starmaker Performing Arts our first priority is your child’s safety and welfare.

We recognise that we have a responsibility to safeguard the welfare of your child and to reassure you that appropriate policies and procedures are in place to ensure that your child takes part in classes at the school within a safe and secure environment.

AIM

We aim to ensure that Starmaker Performing Arts:

Provides an environment in which children are safe and in which suspicion or allegation of inappropriate behaviour is immediately responded to in line with the procedures agreed.

To ensure all adults within the school who have substantial access to children have been checked as to their suitability with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

All teaching applicants will be interviewed before an appointment is made and will be asked to provide at least one reference

All references will be followed up.

All appointments will be subject to a probationary period.

We will ensure:

All staff are aware that they have a professional responsibility to safeguard children.

Confidentiality

Starmaker recognises that all matters relating to children are confidential and will only disclose information on a need to know basis.

 

Allegations Against Staff

Staff should take care not to place themselves in a vulnerable position with a child. 

In the event that an allegation is made against a member of staff, the head of the school will be immediately informed and will deal with the situation accordingly.
